Does it Offend You, Yeah? - With a Heavy Heart (I Regret to Inform You) - Name Information
The video above is them performing "With a Heavy Heart (I Regret to Inform You)" live.
"Does It Offend You, Yeah? never intended to be an actual band. Nor was their name chosen on purpose. "We just did the tracks and decided to setup this MySpace account so we could just send a link and then people could have a listen," singer James Rushent told Spinner when they stopped by the Interface. "Then we switched on the TV and Ricky Gervais was on there and he said, 'Does it offend you, yeah?' If we'd known that we were going to end up doing this, we probably would have picked a better name." "

Chester French & Clinton Spark - 2 Mans starring Solange - Song

"2 Mans Starring Solange" is a VERY interesting song off of the mixtape JACQUES JAMS, VOL. 1: ENDURANCE. It's pretty funky, seems to have some punky sounds to it.
"This is a band...we are two mans... and you must underrrstannddddd GET FAMILIARRRR"

Walter Meego - Artist

I Can't say it any better than this... "It’s 3 AM and you’re giggling with inebriation. You’re wearing painfully tight jeans. You just made out with a complete stranger on the dancefloor, and you haven’t sat down in over eight hours. Where are you? You are smack in the middle of Walter Meego’s world, and you have a knowing, gleeful smirk on your face.
Walter Meego is not a dude, but a duo. Justin Sconza and Colin Yarck, the heart and soul (respectively) of Walter Meego, are two rare suburban white boys who intuitively understand the subliminal power of synthy, salacious bass. Effervescent pop is Walter Meego’s specialty, and it flies out of speakers like a Pegasus riding a cheetah. "
They're quite an amazing duo. Two of their songs are on the Mixtape I posted below, "Girls" and "Forever." I highly advise you take a listen.

The Top 20 Album Sellers Of The 2000s
and which artist and/or band, living and/or dead has sold more albums since the year 2000... dun dun dun... Eminem. Surprised? Yeah, I was too. Since the year 2000 he has sold a total of 31,127,000 albums. In second place, quite a few million albums away is The Beatles. Not so surprising that they are among the top sellers, but some on the list were pretty surprising to me. For Instance, Nelly is ranked in the 7th spot selling 21,206,000 albums, a tiny bit more than Linkin Park who is taking spot number 8.

Rockin' Romance

Rockin' Romance is a compilation album full of song covers by powerpop bands.
Track Listing
01) Runner Runner - She Will Be Loved (Maroon 5)
02) Goodnight Sunrise - With You (Jessica Simpson)
03) A Change of Pace - Summer Girls (LFO)
04) The Arrival - Kiss from a Rose (Seal)
05) The Real You - Don't Worry Baby (The Beach Boys)
06) Let's Get It - All My Life (KC and JoJo)
07) Love Me Electric - Total Eclipse of the Heart (Bonnie Tyler)
08) Daphne Loves Derby - At Last (Etta James)
09) New Heights - Bleeding Love (Leona Lewis)
10) The Scene Aesthetic - Love Story (Taylor Swift)
11) Moneta - 1,000 Miles (Vanessa Carlton)
12) Destiny Worldwide - Trade It All (Fabolous)
Some of the songs on the album are quite weak, however some are pretty nice.
Runner Runner does a great job of covering Maroon 5 although it does not touch the original. Goodnight Sunrises cover of "With You" may be one of the best on the album, I never though I'd want to listen to a Jessica Simpson song. I'm not quite sure what to think of A Change of Pace's cover of "Summer Girls." It is nowhere near as good as the original, it's not horrible... but I'm not quite sure I like it. The Arrivals cover of "Kiss From a Rose" is also pretty great, it's a fun listen and a nice cover. The Real You covering The Beach Boys song "Don't Worry Baby" is different from lots of songs on the album. I'm not even sure it belongs on the same album. Let's Get It covering "All My Life" is also one of the better songs on the album. Love Me Electric covering "Total Eclipse of the Heart" is again one of the better on the album and not a song I'd expect to be covered. Daphne Loves Derby's version of "At Last" Is also one of the slower and more boring on the album... it doesn't even touch the original. New Heights cover of "Bleeding Love" is not bad either though I am not at all familiar with the original song. The Scene Aesthetics cover of "Love Story" originally by Taylor Swift is also quite good. You have to be a fan of The Scene Aesthetic though, if you dislike them or their style then you will definitely not like this cover. Monetas cover of "1,000 Miles" is pretty good. Saving the best for last... scratch that... the last track which is Destiny Worldwide covering "Trade It All" is absolute horrible. It's easily the worst track on the record and is not even listenable.
Overall this isn't a very good release. I'd rate it at 5/10 stars. It's quite short at only 11 tracks and has a few tracks that aren't very good. If you're into PowerPop you'll enjoy this... otherwise probably not so much. The whole Powerpop thing has been overdone for a while now and this only adds fuel to that fire. Fortunately some of the bands like The Scene Aesthetic still manage to hold an ounce of originality, so we'll see.

Imogen Heap - First Train Home

"First Train Home," the opening song on Ellipse, Imogen Heap's forthcoming third studio album, is also its first single.
Imogen Heap has released the opening song on her newest and third studio album, Ellipse. The song is titled "First Train Home" and it's an obvious Imogen Heap song. It retains the same electro elements she's always had as well as the layered singing. Ellipse is out 8/24 in the UK and 8/25 in North America via Megaphonic/Epic/Sony.
The song doesn't rival with some of my favorites from her, mainly including "Hide and Seek" but it is a pretty good song, I'm interested to hear the album when it is released.

MGMT - Metanoia - Epic MGMT Song

"Metanoia" is a song by the musical duo based in Brooklyn, New York, MGMT. While the song was never on an official MGMT album, "Metanoia" is the special limited edition single release that was originally an additional track on MGMT's debut CD single "Time to Pretend". "Metanoia" was named "Song of the Day" on September 16, 2008 by Rolling Stone, describing it as a "14-minute opus, which ranges from Donovan-ish acid ballads to interstellar synth-powered dirges to falsetto-laden theater rock."
The song is quite epic, give it a listen.

Cocorosie - Werewolf MP3

CocoRosie is an American duo based in France and formed by sisters Bianca Leilani "Coco" and Sierra Rose "Rosie" Casady in 2003. Sierra mainly plays the guitar, piano and harp, and contributes vocals. Bianca sings and manipulates various children's toys/electronic & percussion instruments as well as other exotic noisemakers. CocoRosie performed strictly as a duo early on but in recent years they have appeared with various backing musicians at live shows, usually a bassist, synth player and beatboxer. They have been a very active touring group, playing a seemingly endless stream of dates across Europe and making several trips across the US and all points beyond.
Werewolf is a great and unique song by this duo. It has a very intense sound and they play it quite differently live. It has some very unique lyrics as well.
"...Broken sundown fatherless showdown
Gun hip swollen lip bottle sip yeah I suck dick
Loose grip on gravity falls sky blinding crumbling walls
River sweep away my memories of
Children's things a young mother's love
Before the yearning song of flesh on flesh
Young hearts burst open wounds bleed fresh..."

Passion Pit - Band

Passion Pit is an amazing 5-piece band led by Michael Angelakos. Originating in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA they've recently released their first full length CD entitled Manners. They're an American Electronic band with Falsetto vocals. The band's debut EP Chunk of Change was released on September 16, 2008. The first four tracks were a Valentine's Day gift from Angelakos to his then-girlfriend Christine that became popular throughout Emerson College, which Angelakos was attending. Tracks 5 and 6, "Sleepyhead" and "Better Things," were added to the commercial release, engineered by Ian Hultquist. On February 24, 2009, the American iTunes store released "Sleepyhead" as a discovery download song.
Following the band's exposure on the BBC's Sound of 2009, "Sleepyhead" has started to receive airplay on NME TV in the UK.
This band is one of the more original bands I have been listen to lately. The first time I heard them was when "Sleepyhead" was passed along to me as a friend as a must listen. I was told it sounds like MGMT on crack. This analysis is quite correct. When I first got my hands on their EP Chunk of Change after a few listens I found it to be amazing. I couldn't stop listening. Then the LP released Manners and once again they were one of more top played artists in my library. Manners may fall a bit short to Chunk of Change but both releases are nothing less than top quality.
I've seen this band live about a month ago and they were even better live than on recording. His vocals will take you off your feet and his awkwardness/getting used to stardom is obvious and neat at the same time.

OH!MEGA - DJ/Producer Duo
This DJ/producer duo is from Lexington, KY. They've been active for about a year now, running an all digital setup [abletonLive & Logic]. Their soundcloud page contains two MP3's, "Where is it? (OH!MEGAmix)" and "Dance This Way."
"Where is it? (OH!MEGAmix)" is sure to make you move. With constant upbeat beats and sampled vocals these tracks are quite enjoyable. I'm not very much into the vocals on "Dance This Way" but otherwise the songs are pretty good. While this band not be super original they are quite fun to listen to. I'd be interested in seeing what they put out in the future.

A new remix has been released for the 3oh!3 song "Don't Trust Me." It includes Kid Cudi and Mike Posner. ...freshmen with a cup in here handddd

Gym Class Heroes - Band

Gym Class Heroes are an alternative hip hop/Rap Rock band from Geneva, New York. The group formed when Travis "Schleprok" McCoy met drummer Matt McGinley and decided to form a band. They are currently a part of Decaydance and Fueled By Ramen record labels. They've at this point released four CD's including the two most popular, As Cruel as School Children and The Quilt. They've been nominated for numerous awards and won best new artist in 2007 from the MTV Video Music Awards. They're probably best known for their single "Cupids Chokehold" which sampled from "Breakfast in America" by Supertramp. Their video "Cupids Chokehold" features appearances by Katy Perry and Patrick Stump.
Personally I really enjoy this band, especially their older stuff. The Quilt was quite dissapointing to me. The only song I really enjoy off of The Quilt is "Cookie Jar." Some great songs off of their older albums include "Taxi Driver" which mentions many different bands in it and of course "Cupids Chokehold"

Neutral Milk Hotel

Neutral Milk Hotel was an American indie rock band formed by singer, guitarist and songwriter Jeff Mangum in the early 1990s. They were active from 1991 to 1998. Despite growing popularity, the group disbanded in 1999 after Mangum became disenchanted with touring and the music press, later having a nervous breakdown. The band released two LP's, the first one titled On Avery Island, the second one titled In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Although some of the members are occasionally active with one another in other projects, it is unknown whether any more Neutral Milk Hotel albums will be released. When asked in an interview if he intends to write another album, Mangum said, "I don't know. It would be nice, but sometimes I kind of doubt it."
On Avery Island released in 1996 received 4/5 stars by Allmusic and Skinny Mag and a 4.5/5 rating by Twisted Ear.
In the Aeroplane over the Sea is the second studio album by American indie rock band Neutral Milk Hotel. The album was released in February 1998 in the United States on Merge Records and in May 1998 in the United Kingdom on Blue Rose Records. It received perfect scores by multiple outlets including Allmusic, Pitchfork Media and Tiny Mix Tapes.
Neutral Milk Hotel was a truly amazing band. Personally I am not able to get into their first album, On Avery Island but am absolutely infatuated with In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. That album alone has influenced many great artists including Jesse Lacey of Brand New.

of Montreal - For Our Elegant Caste (Depressed Buttons Remix)

Wow, what an odd remix this one is.
of Montreal(my favorite band) has had a song off their latest album Skeletal Lamping remixed by two artists from The Faint. "For Our Elegant Caste." Gone are the bongo drums, anything to help you recognize Kevin Barnes's voice, the campy melodies and the flamboyance. They're replaced by the hollow resonance of modified vocals and a heavy electronic beat, but the lyric "we can do it softcore if you want" can only sound so threatening.

Panic at the Disco - Band Breakup

Panic at the disco have announced that they are breaking up. A band that went through quite a few changes, name wise dropping the Exclamation mark they originally had and musically going from what some would call Technoey to Hippy.
Members Ryan Ross, credited to be the creative mastermind, and Jon Walker are leaving the band to pursue other musical endeavors. According to their official website, “Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we’ve creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve.” The remaining band members will continue to record and tour as planned.

ZibraZibra - Band Post

ZibraZibra was a super zany band out of Minnesota. They were a four-piece Techno / Electronic band that used elements of '80s New Wave, Scandanavian pop, and Hair Metal. They put out two albums in their lifetime, The End of The Lion in 2006 and 777 in 2007. The name ZibraZibra comes from a Greek phrase, "zebra zebra," which means just how it sounds – two zebras – but the band says they "...thought the imagery was appropriate. We see the zebras – two creatures of indiscernible sex – as a good metaphor for sexual ambiguity; it ties in nicely with our sexually deviant themes".
Sadly, on February the 1st 2009 they posted on their Myspace simply "ZibraZibra Died.
Supercollider replaced it." Now they are a two manned band known as Supercollider.
One of their more interesting songs was known as Arcade Catastrophe

Sick Puppies - Tri-Polar - Album Leak
Set for release on July 14, 2009, Sick Puppies have returned with Tri-Polar after their first album release in 2007. The band's first single titled "You're Going Down", was used by the WWE as the official theme song for their PPV event WWE Extreme Rules. Another single was released from the album: "Street Fighter (War)". It was written for Capcom's video game Street Fighter IV and has been used in their respective advertisements for the game.
Fortunately, this album does sound like Sick Puppies. However, it seems as though their sound has been altered to sound more mainstream than it was before. The first album offered such hits as "All the Same" and "My World" and even some great unknown songs like "Pitiful" and "Howard's Tale." Unfortunately, this album does not live up to the expectations I had, they seem to have lost the uniqueness they had before.
